The Benta Sports Association was founded in 2000 in Érd, by Gábor Szanyi-Nagy. In 2004, coach János Krausz joined the team, thus making it possible to offer judo classes to children in several locations, in Érd, Százhalombatta and Tárnok. In 2008, János Krausz took over the leadership of the association and also changed the approach. In addition to competitive judo, he made training available for all age groups. His aim was to get as many children and adults as possible moving, and as a result, the number of members grew from 30-50 to 100 in a short time, and the name of the Benta Sports Association became known in Érd, Tárnok, Sóskút and Pusztazámor.
In 2014, the association reached a major milestone. Attila Gaszt, the owner of GIA Form Ltd., made it possible to build a 110 m2 carpeted, stand-alone gym on his company’s former premises. A cooperation agreement was then signed with the Bolyai János Primary School, and since then the lower grades have been taking part in judo classes as part of their physical education lessons. Also in 2014, Gergő Fésüs and Krisztián Farkas, former competitors of the association, joined the coaching staff. Gergő has been working with the beginners’ group and Krisztián with the competitors ever since. Since 2014, the number of members has grown further, reaching 150 today. Since 2008, the judo team has been joined by a CrossFit team of enthusiastic parents, and twice a week the seniors fill the Kornélia Street hall.
The training sessions are held in two locations, in Érd and Tárnok, in five groups. Our coaches are head coach János Krausz, coaches Krisztián Farkas and Gergő Fésüs.
